Poster, return home, update etc. When I last left you, I was about to present the poster. It was relatively well received, but I didn't get as many people through as I would have liked. Some of the people I would have quite liked to have discussed the work with had gone already, and the luck of the draw had my poster in a corner of the room away from the food and drink. So saying, I did get some good comments. The trip home wasn't too bad. I was apprehensive as, for the long leg of the trip, my seat was in the middle towards the back. Fortunately, I got my seat changed and I moved forward and got an aisle seat. At some point on the trip, I had a look at the seat I had changed out of. Next to that seat, there was a large man oozing into the now empty seat as well as into the aisle. It would have been a very unpleasant trip for both of us. Since getting home, I have finished at Haemair, written a fellowship application and done some other work. I've been appointed coach of the Welsh side for the upcoming game against England. Training has been good - I think we will be able to go out there and do as well as we can. The team will be well prepared, but it will be weird to not be able to play. On the other hand, it will be good for the sport to not have Australians taking part. It has also been a generally busy couple of weeks. Comments |
