What is Rovers?
Rovers is for anybody (male or female) from 17 to 26 years old. No previous scouting is required. 'Crews' of usually 5-15 people meet weekly to do activities to suit the people in the crew. There are also Branch (state) and National activities that Rovers attend including:
- Surfmoot - a camp held on Australia Day weekend where 100s of Rovers meet to listen to live bands, play games, go to the beach and basically socialise!
- Mudbash - a camp held on Queen's Birthday weekend, where crews socialise, watch live bands, play games and race BUGGIES!
- International Moots - camps involving Rovers from around the world over a few days to two weeks, sometimes followed by a tour of the country.
- Metropolitan Area Rover Ball (MARB) - Melbourne's biggest fancy dress ball.
Rovers is also the last youth section in the Scouting Movement which means we have many of the opportunities available to the Scouting Movement, including leadership training, stage performing and adventurous activities, with the added benefits of being adults.
